One of my favorite nutrition blogs is called The Whole Health Source. It is well researched, thoughtful information about nutrition. I can’t get enough of it, really. Today, The Whole Health Source posted on China Study Problems of Interpretation. The China Study was an observational study in China of 65 different regions, used as a […]

  • Anonymous - My coworker is from the Philippines and found out she was allergic to what and couldn't remember eating bread or wheat as a child, so it makes sense to her now that she cannot eat gluten.

The China Study was done in China with people who for centuries only ate non gluten ingredients. This study needs to be done in North America first because we are what we eat and have adapted to the food that is native to our land.

Can someone do this and get back to me? I would like to know that for me being raised in America (with ancestors from American Indians and Europeans) I should be concerned and be gluten free.

    Thanks!ReplyCancel

  • Kari - Totally OT on this post, but I wanted to share a huge thing in our house. I have personally decided to go GF. I have had the symptoms of my PCOS come back, with a vengence. I know this means medications and a low carb diet. I started to research about all of my options (now that I am much more educated on the alternative therapies we so often overlook) and found overwhelming evidence that a GF diet works wonders, usually with no help from medications needed.

So, your help that you have given me over the last year with my son will now pay off in my life. Of course, this is all easier with my finding Udi's bread. Hehehe, it's my new favorite thing.

I figured I had two choices. I could take Metformin/Glucophage and give up all bread or I could go GF, stay off the meds (hopefully) and be able to at least eat GF breads. Can you tell I am a bread lover?ReplyCancel
