Everyone should take a multivitamin. I like Rainbow Light’s Nutristart Multivitamin for infants and young children because it is so complete. I haven’t found one that works for older kids–we get ours compounded by the nutritionist. But, any good multivitamin will contain D3 instead of vitamin D. A probiotic we love is: GI FLORA. Here […]

  • Stephanie - Wow, your site is great. My five year old and I have been gluten/dairy free for a year and half now. I recently found the Vitamin Code vitamins and have switched him from the nordic naturals to it, I open the family version and dump it in his fruit and veggie juice with the eferevescent calcium. His constipation is nearly gone now, so its a really good one. Keep up the great work and good luck with your mission.ReplyCancel

I am not a football fan. I have watched the superbowl only once, when I was visiting my sister. My brother-in-law is a huge sports fan and it was impossible to not watch. Anyway, it’s hard being gluten and dairy free when everyone else in indulging. I would make this cuban chicken if I were […]

It’s time that we as caring parents start to seriously examine the question as to whether or not increasing amounts of processed food that the current generation of children are consuming is playing a role in the increased prevalence of childhood developmental disorders. Evidence is mounting that while not always the case, often times, processed […]

  • Our Family Is His - Yes. I got this article earlier this week and was disgusted. So, I did my research. It is now on my blog as a warning to anyone who reads it. We have pretty much cut HFCS out of our diets, but we had one or two things that we still used every once in a while (Dr. Peppers were our treat). We now don’t drink any Mercury drinks (as my husband calls them now). Sigh. You just have to really read labels.ReplyCancel

  • Lynna Kay - Oh my! We eat tons of Kraft bbq sauce and Smucker’s strawberry jelly. Now I don’t know what to use! We love bbq and strawberry jelly…any suggestions?ReplyCancel

  • Our Family Is His - Check labels. There are lots without any HFCS. We use sugar free fruit spread (aka, jelly but they call it fruit spread and it’s much more natural and healthy and… comes in strawberry). You can get this just right next to the plain old jelly on any grocery store aisle. I am looking for another BBQ (we don’t use it often so I haven’t gotten to taste many) and there are quite a few out there but I don’t know which ones taste good.

I know it’s not my blog, but I hope my experience helps.ReplyCancel

  • Neicole Teare - Bbq sauce can be made homemade using hfcsgf ketchup(annie's brand uses agave sweetener), brown sugar or agave, and mustard powder. If you can tolerate sugar honey works too.
Jam does come hcfs free but fairly expensive, so I recommend learning how to make freezer jam.ReplyCancel

Here is the vitamin that I used for my son when he was 18 months old. It is a mainstream multivitamin with minerals that I stumbled upon at Whole Foods. Nutristart Multivitamin Powder is a product I have stuck with because it contains a very complete and balanced formula. It is a powder flavored with […]

  • Anonymous - Pioneer Nutritional Formulas has a very good line, including a terrific children’s chewable multi. The entire line is lab verified gluten-free, and highly recommended for celiacs due to their effectiveness. :)ReplyCancel

  • Sarah - We also use Nutristart – it seems to have much more than regular gummie vitamins (even those that are GFCFSF) and is easy to mix in either juice or applesauce.ReplyCancel

  • Jennifer - I use all New Chapter products for my children over 4 yrs of age. Just order the tiny tabs multi and C vitamins. These are great because they are whole foods, easy to swallow, organic, and include probiotics in them. Also, they are color, sugar, and preservative free. For my children 4 and under I use Nature's Plus C Vitamins which does contain sugar, but they have just created a sugar free version with zylitol (which helps prevent cavities and helps your body get rid of infections quicker). Also, I use a liquid multi-vitamin by Nature's Plus named: Baby Plex and it is sugar free and easy to administer.ReplyCancel

  • Aundrea - What vitamin do you recommend for adults with Celiac?ReplyCancel

  • Anonymous - We use vitamins from Kirk an labs, adult and children. My kids are allergic to the flavorings in these other vitamins. We just opened the capsules into applesauce when they were too little to swallow the capsules.ReplyCancel
