Tamara - I love that….it is so true. Since we made diet changes, and I saw first hand the end of ear infections and colds, I have become a woman obsessed with nutrition.
I work in a children’s hospital, and what absolutely kills me is when I hear a dietician tell a parent to calorie load a child, but does not give more info regarding healthy high calorie foods. So inevitably, I’ll see the parents loading the child up with soda, cookies, chips, etc. And these are some very sick kids. The hospital food offered isn’t any better. There is a huge gap between modern medicine and nutritional therapy, and it is very frustrating.
Interestingly enough though..in the 10 years that I have worked in pediatrics, I have very rarely had an asian patient. The few times I have, I’ve noticed that many times those parents will bring nourishing food from home, and are aware that sick bodies need not only modern medicine, but healing food. It seems like such a simple, common sense approach, but it so often forgotten.
Sorry to ramble on your blog, lol.
