Geneticially Modified (GMO) Food List by Companies

Recently, I had a post about AAEM’s request for a ban on genetically modified foods. Here is an excerpt from the article by Jeffrey Smith called American Academy of Environmental Medicine Calls for Immediate Moratorium on All Genetically Modified Foods

“biologist David Schubert of the Salk Institute warns that “children are the most likely to be adversely effected by toxins and other dietary problems” related to GM foods. He says without adequate studies, the children become “the experimental animals.”[ii]”

AAEM has linked GMOs to infertility, immune problems, gastrointestinal problems, and insulin regulation in animal studies. The article mentions that sheep often graze on cotton after the cotton season, but when they graze on BT cotton (which is genetically modified) thousands died. Yikes.

Here is a link to a list of the companies that use GMO food and those that don’t. The companies that use genetically modified ingredients are mainstream companies that provide the bulk of the food that kids eat today. Pepperidge Farm, Nabisco, Betty Crocker/General Mills, Hersheys, Kellogs, Pepsi, Coca Cola, and Campbells all use genetically modified organisms in their products. I have known for a while that most corn, soy, canola and cottonseed oil in the US contains GMOs unless specifically labelled “non GMO.” So it is not surprising that these mainstream food companies, who put profit first, are using GMO ingredients. Still, it is shocking to see so many products that make up the bulk of typical kids food on the list–Eggo waffles, Quaker rice cakes, Campbell’s soup, Heinz Ketchup, CHEERIOS!!!

If it killed a significant number of sheep, who knows what it is doing to our one year olds whose minds and bodies are still developing.

  • Anonymous - We should all work together to boycott these companies and to also inform others on the danger of gmos. Why reward the companies that make us sick and give them are hard earned dollars. Time to wake up people!ReplyCancel

  • Becca Blossoms - In the U.S., genetic modification has expanded into almost every area of food production of gmo food list. Scientists can introduce some sort of modification gmo food list into the genes of crops, dairy products and animals. From gmo food list for example, ranchers and dairy farmers normally feed cattle a GM diet, which is in turn passed on to you when you drink milk or eat beef. Do you need to worry about what's on your family's dinner table? And are there some surprising benefits to GM foods of gmo food list? As you'll see, this subject is one hot potato.ReplyCancel

  • Anonymous - How can GMO products have any sort of benefits? Chemical companies after World War 2 somehow reduced Nerve Gas dangers to a level where it poisons our food supply with bad side effect. GMO has 0000000000 benefits!ReplyCancel
